Abrasive Capabilities are Limitless

We stock an array of abrasives available for both soft and hard blasting applications. These include, aluminum oxide, coal slag, corn cob, glass beads, plastic media, silicon carbide, sodium bicarbonate, and walnut shell, just to name a few. We have the experience to choose the right abrasives to complete your job and can blast to SSPC and NACE specifications. Our trained personnel have extensive experience with small and large, low and high volume projects on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

"Sand Blasting"

ABC offers recycled or virgin abrasive material and an inventory of specialized nozzles and equipment. We can easily blast what others can’t, and stay within your budget. We blast to SSPC/NACE specs or to yours. Coating removal, rust removal, and surface preparation are a just few of the services our sandblasting department has to offer.

"Soft Blasting"

By utilizing specially designed abrasives, such as Plastic, Baking soda, corn cob, walnut shells, and others. We are able to remove coatings from delicate materials such as Aluminum, Plastic, Fiberglass, and even Carbon Fiber, without causing damage to the base material.

Plastic Media Blasting vs Sandblasting:

Do not confuse the two. Sand blasting utilizes very sharp hard silica sand particles that are sprayed from a hose at a very high air pressure. This material and pressure can be damaging to any surface that it is used on unless the surface is rock, concrete, or brick. Plastic Media Blasting utilizes a similar set up, spraying plastic beads out of a pressured hose but at much lower pressures and with a much more soft media.

Environmentally Safe:

After blasting, the plastic beads and residue dust from the part blasted is reclaimed by the machine which separates the waste particles form the plastic bead allowing the beads to be reused. The dust is collected in a drum and can be disposed of in any landfill. What is even better is that no residue is left on the parts which means that no chemical agent or solvent is needed to further clean the part. The part can be wiped with a dry clean rag and is ready to refinish.
